Handbags are much like shoes, a make or break of a great outfit! In The Devil Wears Prada, it was said, “Accessories are a piece of iconography used to express individuality.” That is so true! You can tell a lot about a person by their choice in their shoes and/or accessories.
Me personally, I am VERY bold in my choices in shoes and handbags. Oh and necklaces! I hate seeing someone in an amazing outfit and see their amazingly jacked up choice in a pair of shoes.
Anyway, handbag trends during the past fashion week was literally all over the place but the good thing about that is that we have soooooo much to choose from! Here are a few trends that I noticed had the biggest impact!
Fur was everywhere! Fur is quite normal to eye during the winter. I mean it’s winter lol! Fur handbags could be seen from numerous designers. Entire bags of fur, fur straps and fur wallets! Designers Altuzarra, Oscar de la Renta, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi and Alexander McQueen all showed some cozy fashion forward fur handbags or handbags with fur straps! Take a look at this beautiful fur handbag that is my absolute favorite on our site! Buffy
Dainty, cute, hand held clutches were definitely in during the past fashion week. Clutches are always a great way to get your necessities in for a GNO or Date Night! Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Dior and Celine had some outrageously cute clutches! Click here to see our clutches!
Bags that featured architectural sides, sharp edges and structural designs were everywhere! There is one particular bag that was shown by Chloe that seems to be all the rage with lower budget and high designers alike is the round satchel with the gold handles. Here is our version here
Other designers such as DVF and Dior also showed more structured pieces especially boxy satchels. We have some cute boxy satchels was well. Take a look at this one here
4. A surprising trend is the triple threat. Apparently, the belief right now is that three is better than one! So many designers such was Coach, Fendi and Gucci all showed models that carried three handbags at a time which most of the time matched and other times absolutely did not! We offer some sets of course! Check out this one here
5. Embellishments and Graphics (Fun Novelty)
Embellishment overload was definitely on trend! We are talking about rhinestones, embroidery, big flowers and sequins especially from Dries Van Noten, Dolce & Gabbana and Bally!
Graphics such as big lips, stars, polka dots and stripes were on overload as well. Emojis are a great example of the graphic trend as well as the polka dots! Proenza Schoulor, Nina Ricci and Hermes area few designers who went big on the runway with graphics. Check out some of our trendy bags
So, as you can see there are quite a bit of trends right now with handbags that are obviously fashionable ways to express your individuality and complete your outfit! Get to shopping now!
